It was great for me as a Kent Wedding Photographer to have a change and film some commercial work again and take up my second favourite role as a event photographer. I was commissioned to photograph the Ashford heat of the ICAEW student competition, BASE/Business, Accounting and Skills Education.
They asked me to get photos of the dynamic and vibrant event as it unfolded, this is something that as a lover of event photography I really enjoyed. It was great fun and interesting to see these young aspiring chartered accountants in a very competitive environment.

ICAEW’s national Business, Accounting and Skills Education (BASE) competition for students aged 16–19. A unique and exciting experience, students are able to engage in a challenging business game that enables them to develop key employability skills and understand what it’s like to be an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.
Consisting of 46 UK regional heats and one spectacular national final, students of all abilities attend their local heat to: find out more about careers in accountancy, finance and business; compete in a thought-provoking business game; and network with professionals at a dedicated employer exhibition.
As students take on the role of ICAEW Chartered Accountants, they are asked to resolve a business situation, working through a business case to develop recommendations. Students are able to put their classroom learning into practice, developing transferable skills that can be used in their future careers or education.
